The ARC member show this year will happen in October, for Chicago Artist Month. The theme for the City this year is “City as Studio” and the theme for the member show is “Urban Convergence”. The show is collaborative. Each member will collaborate with one other artist, writer or performer. The opening reception is at the ARC Gallery, 832 West Superior Street #204, Chicago, on October 1, 2010, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

I am working on a set of three paintings based on an old Christian hymn called “In the Garden”. The structure of each painting is fundamentally the same. Each begins with a verse and ends with the chorus of the hymn. The music is set out measure by measure, the colors record major changes in harmony and cadences. The first painting represents dawn in the garden, the second, mid-day. The final painting represents night-fall and death.
I am now a member of ARC Gallery in Chicago.
